Our client is seeking a Chief Electrical Engineer to spearhead electrical architecture, design standardization, and material handling and automation system integration. This role crafts foundational electrical system frameworks that prioritize safety, scalability, and efficiency in hardware and panel designs. The Chief Electrical Engineer leads panel design standardization, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive automation innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Standardization: Develop and implement standardized electrical design guidelines, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all material handling projects. Design modular power distribution systems for low and medium voltage applications, and establish best practices for panel layouts, grounding, and safety circuit design.
  • Technical Leadership: Oversee electrical system design, panel layout, and wiring diagram integration with control systems. Lead power distribution design, including motor control centers, VFDs, and servo drive architectures, and ensure optimized electrical designs for automation applications.
  • Design Review and Audit: Conduct regular design reviews and audits to ensure high reliability, maintainability, and safety of all electrical systems.
  • Team Development: Build, train, and mentor a team of electrical engineers, establishing training programs on safety compliance, electrical design principles, and power system optimization. Implement peer review processes to maintain design accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Controls, Software, and Mechanical Engineering, to ensure seamless electromechanical integration. Partner with suppliers and vendors to optimize component selection, and collaborate with Project Managers and Customers to deliver tailored electrical solutions.
  • Innovation and Growth: Evaluate and integrate emerging electrical technologies, such as DC power systems and AI-powered diagnostics. Implement remote monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions to enhance system uptime and reliability, and lead R&D efforts in advanced electrical architectures.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 12-15+ years of experience in electrical engineering with deep knowledge of material handling and distribution center operations
  • Proven expertise in designing and optimizing standardized electrical system architectures
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems and safety standards
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, you will be building and growing a new division!


Compensation is DOE 140-180k

This is a remote role that requires up to 35% travel
