We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and lead the development of innovative and scalable data solutions. In this role, you will oversee technical teams, define system architecture, and deliver impactful outcomes for complex data challenges. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for fostering innovation and collaboration within teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure accessibility and integrity
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver customized solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Improve reliability, scalability, and performance of data systems
• Drive adherence to best practices and ensure delivery of high-quality, maintainable code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
• Support client engagements, pre-sales initiatives, and rapid-response efforts
• Promote knowledge sharing through technical talks and community engagement
• Stay current with emerging technologies and apply innovative solutions to projects
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Seven or more years of experience as a Data Engineer
• At least two years of leadership experience managing teams and projects
• Proven track record in at least two full project lifecycles or involvement in multiple phases of development
• Extensive hands-on experience with coding and solving complex technical problems
• Expertise in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation
• In-depth knowledge of AWS services for cloud-based data architecture and solutions
• Experience with Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning workflows
• Strong skills in system design and architecture, balancing strategic vision with implementation details
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable technical impact across teams and projects
• Broad technical knowledge across multiple domains and technology stacks
• Proven ability to mentor and share knowledge across teams and the organization
• A mindset for innovation, implementing new frameworks, tools, and methodologies
• Adaptable to working across various programming languages, tech stacks, and domains
• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher for effective communication
