Join the exceptional team at Under Grain, a Michelin-star fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Valletta. We are currently seeking a Chef de Rang to deliver refined, attentive service and uphold the highest standards of hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure excellent service, from guest seating to food and beverage presentation, in line with Michelin-star standards.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and wine list to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and sommelier teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of dishes and beverages.
  • Ensuring tables are impeccably set and the station is organized.
  • Anticipate guest needs and preferences, delivering an exceptional and personalized dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dining area during and after service.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette, service sequences, and guest engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and polished demeanor.
  • Passionate about hospitality, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure as part of a team.
