Plan and design inspection jigs for automotive body sheet metal parts, considering factors such as part geometry, inspection requirements, and manufacturing processes.
Utilize CAD software (CATIA or AutoCAD preferred) to create detailed designs and models of inspection jigs.
Collaborate with related departments and business partners to ensure seamless integration of jig designs into the production process and optimize for manufacturability.
Conduct inspections and quality checks to verify the accuracy and effectiveness of designed jigs.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department, focusing on jig design and inspection methodologies.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to jig designs, inspections, and testing procedures.
Flexibility to work on holidays as required, depending on project assignments and workload.
Key Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes in the automotive field; knowledge of sheet metal forming processes is a plus.
Experience with CAD software operations (CATIA or AutoCAD preferred), including 3D modeling and drafting.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with internal departments and external business partners.
Willingness and flexibility to work on holidays as needed.
Familiarity with automotive industry standards and specifications (e.g., GD&T) is a plus.
Prior experience in jig design, fixture design, or a related field is preferred.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are a plus.
