Support the Regional Chartering Centre in Singapore and Shanghai with data analysis of Charter opportunities, preparing calculation and pricing of shipments in the regions.
Take lead in pricing/quoting/fixing where necessary.
Render assistance and guidance on market situations in strategy meetings with Opportunity Owners.
Gather and quantify the impact of pricing for the Charters from customer and courier in countries to facilitate fact based decision making by relevant senior management stakeholders.

Key Tasks
Drive competitive pricing
Support in responding to pricing enquiries in an efficient and competitive manner
Draft and submit relevant documents for tenders
Maintain databases with specific information to enable quick responses to specific network queries
Prepare inquiries to Carriers
Analysis and calculate prices
Able to create an overview and present pricing recommendations to management
Translate and explain pricing instructions from the IP offices
Initiate, explore all possibilities options for optimal results
Drive and support agreed pricing process, data quality and compliance
Ensure competitive pricing through usage of various benchmarking tools
Carrier management
Maintain good relationship with existing carriers to receive their best support
Explore new opportunities with carriers that aren’t considered ‘core carriers’ to ensure adequate coverage for DHL
Monitor carrier’s performance on contract delivery
Gather market intelligence through industry networking activities such as meetings / conferences / calls
Offer guidance to the commercial team on sales approach based on market intel / understanding of the market / carrier management.
Technical awareness of different vessel types / stowage requirements / cargo handling / basic lifting and lashing guidelines.
Support country BD team on customer meetings / calls / visits (even travelling) if necessary / promoting DHL’s chartering product

Work together with other chartering brokers located in the region and countries
May convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DGF managers
Understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.
Develop a network of vendor contacts to build up relationships and strengthen the organizational, product and market knowledge
Management Responsibility
Responsible for day to day direction/coaching to direct reports and/or mid to low level chartering employees within the wider team
Education Level
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
Experience Level
more than 5 years relevant experience business experience in project chartering
