Summary

Allrise is a forensic animation company that partners with personal injury attorneys to create powerful, science-based visualizations for trial and mediation. Our work brings clarity to complex medical and liability issues by accurately depicting mechanisms of injury and surgical procedures. We specialize in high-quality 3D animations grounded in expert witness testimony and real-world data.

We are looking for a skilled Character Animator with experience in motion capture and a passion for creating realistic human motion. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of biomechanics and physical plausibility, with the ability to work within legal and medical contexts where accuracy is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Animate believable human motion based on expert reports, video references, and medical data
  • Use motion capture data to drive animation workflows, including cleanup and refinement
  • Create realistic, anatomically accurate animations that show mechanisms of injury, motor vehicle accidents, or physical interactions between vehicles, people, and objects
  • Collaborate with managers and other team members to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Incorporate camera movement, timing, and visual storytelling to clearly convey key moments in a case
  • Prepare animation sequences for review and client delivery, following internal standards and processes
  • Optional but highly desired: ability to light and render scenes using V-Ray with a photorealistic finish

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in character animation
  • Proficiency in Maya (required), with working knowledge of cleaning up motion capture data
  • Proficiency using Advanced Skeleton 5 a huge plus
  • Solid understanding of human anatomy, kinesiology, and physical realism in motion
  • Ability to think analytically, work from limited input (written reports, still images, or expert direction), and translate into clear, plausible animation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to take direction and apply feedback efficiently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, especially when working on multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Maya and Advanced Skeleton 5 to apply motion capture data to rig
  • Background animating accurate biomechanics and anatomy
  • Experience compositing or prepping sequences for legal exhibits (After Effects or similar)
  • Experience with lighting and rendering in V-Ray a huge plus

This is a contract position but could turn into future full-time employment for the right candidate.

Full-Time Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 15 paid holidays
  • 50% paid healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with 4% company match

All applicants will be asked to complete a mandatory animation test. You must have your own version of Maya to complete the assessment.
