Title: Manager II, Budget
Prepares, consolidates, and distributes the annual budget for the DeKalb County School District (DCSD); monitors budget implementation and compliance with state and local regulations; provides analysis and interpretation of operating reports to support strategic planning and decision-making; ensures adherence to sound accounting principles and practices; and oversees all aspects of budget administration.
Essential Functions
Assists the Director of Budget in preparing the Annual Budget for review and approval by the Board of Education; prepares the Annual State Financial and Budget Report (DE046) for the Georgia Department of Education; and prepares the Annual Salary and Travel Report (CS-1) for the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts.
Provides financial data and reports in consultation with the Director of Budget.
Develops and maintains DCSD and state budgets, financial data, and related reports; prepares and analyzes Budget data reports; and maintains the chart of accounts by adding or modifying charge codes and project numbers.
Supervises and evaluates the work of Budget Department staff.
Executes all budget adjustments in accordance with guidelines set by the DeKalb County Board of Education.
Guides, assists, and trains Budget Unit Managers during the Annual Budget Development process; supports Budget Unit Managers, Principals, and Bookkeepers with their respective budgets.
Uploads all budgets related to projects, grants, and donations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related area is required.
Master’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related area is preferred.
