Job Title: Class A CDL Driver/Equipment Operator

Job Description:

We are seeking a dependable and efficient CDL-licensed truck driver who would like to come work for a local landscape company transporting machinery, delivering landscape materials, and occasionally helping out on a landscape job using an excavator or skid. This is a seasonal position (April-November), with the possibility of some winter hauling. We work primarily in the Minneapolis-St Paul Metro area. Must have the ability to connect and maneuver air tag trailer with pintle hitch. Be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
• Drive combination vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
• Pick-up and safely transport landscape machinery and materials to the intended destination
• Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck or flatbed to prevent damage/injury
• Skid Loader/excavator knowledge is a plus
• Communicate with dispatch as needed
• Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Track and report working hours
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
• This is NOT an over-the-road position. Normal hours M-F from 7am-6pm.
• Comply with ICC and DOT regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A required
• 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
• Clean driving record with no moving violations
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
• Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
• Physically and mentally fit
• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
• An innate sense of direction
• Self-starter who works well independently
• Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
• High level of composure and good stress management
