The Category Manager reports to the Procurement Manager for Thailand and is based in Maptaphut Factory, Thailand.
The Category Manager is responsible to lead procurement category; namely to develop and implement strategy to deliver cost efficiency and effectiveness for the business unit.
The Role Priorities Are To
Analyze, monitor and manage categories through reviewing cost drivers, key input cost, index movements, market trends, etc.
Develop and implement strategy for respective categories to ensure cost effectiveness
Mange relationship with stakeholders (internal users, suppliers, communities across countries, etc.)
Negotiate and manage the contracts
Analyze the risk in supply chain and develop mitigation plan
Increase contracted spend vs non-contracted spend
Monitor changes in category (in case have) such as when there is legal requirement changed
The successful individual will bring the following qualifications and experience to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commercial, Business Administrative or related fields
Minimum 5 years’ experience and proven success record in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing, some preferably in an international company
Procurement & Supply Chain professional certificate i.e. Certificate in Procurement and Inventory Management
Proficient in MS Office (Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Word Document)
Good English communication skills both written and spoken
Strong negotiation, influencing and analytical skills
Able to drive improvements and results
