The Cash Operations Associate is responsible for assisting in daily storefront opening and closing procedures. This position supports the Cash Operations Supervisor, assisting with research, refunds, chargebacks, and reporting.
Position Responsibilities

Handles cash and various payment types and system transactions.
Confirms currency and coin balances in cash drawers at the beginning and end of the shift.
Maintains system receipt transactions / End of Day paperwork / reconciliation, documentation, and document retention.
Assists with the daily cash reconciliation and banking deposits.
Reviews and files daily reports from multiple employees and locations
Contacts co-workers and customers regarding payments and other inquiries
Monitors email and answers telephone inquiries and assists with information and questions.
Assists with research, refunds, chargebacks, and Provisional Driver’s License Program payments, documentation, point of sale system setup / maintenance, and reporting.
Supports and assists in training new staff.
Tests scenarios for system changes
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of business office financial operations including daily and monthly processing of transactions, close, compliance, and reporting
Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel at an intermediate level.
Detail-oriented and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
Ability to self-motivate, track, and follow-up on all communications and/or tasks.
Ability to recognize potential issues, research, and troubleshoot for possible resolution or to provide recommendations.
Ability to work effectively with staff within and outside of the Finance division, demonstrating a high degree of interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience
The preferred minimum qualifications for this position are:
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.
OR a minimum of two (2) years of professional-level cash, accounting, or finance experience.
OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
PREFERENCE
Preference May Be Given To Candidates Who
Have experience as a bank teller or back-office administrator, specifically with responsibilities pertaining to handling cash.
Special Requirements
The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.
This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
This position works in a storefront setting with a large percentage of the workday spent on the store floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild but will depend on customer traffic in the store.
This position requires employees to be able to stand up to eight hours a day and lift 10-20 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
