The Federal “No Surprises” Act created a process, called independent dispute resolution (IDR), which health care providers, facilities, and health plans can use to resolve payment disputes for certain out-of-network charges. Index Analytics is seeking a Case Analyst II to support the IDR process. The Analyst will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to review medical and billing documentation and collect information from disputing parties to assist in the resolution of disputes.

Index will provide training on the Federal rule, IDR process, case types, IDR entity (IDRE) responsibilities/role, and relevant government systems to access dispute-related materials.

Responsibilities

  • Closely review disputes in the Federal IDR Portal.
  • Leverage previous experience in medical record review/billing to perform case file reviews using multiple government and IDRE systems and databases.
  • Coordinate within a team of Analysts to meet productivity goals for triaging and resolving open disputes.
  • Based on case review provide an assessment to inform decisions regarding eligibility and other dispute related determinations
  • Identify gaps in documentation/materials needed for expeditious case resolution.
  • Develop overall recommendations for enhancements to business processes, workflows, case intake/management.
  • Research and develop meaningful guidance in the form of training materials, job aids, and operational documents.
  • Performs data collection from multiple sources to include the web, client databases, and other resources.


Qualifications

  • US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
  • Associate degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience or Bachelor's degree (nursing, medical, public health or legal degree preferred) with minimum 2 years of experience leading medical billing, coding, claims review, or similar processes in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of healthcare payer/provider negotiations
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to adhere to highly specific technical guidelines and processes
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate within a team
  • Ability to understand and maintain federal security and privacy standards
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Experience in federal contracting a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with ability to learn new and complex computer system applications

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
