Description The Carpenter position is perfect for an individual who has a passion for building, a can do attitude, and is a team player. Ideally we are looking for applicants who would like to grow with the company! Qualification and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Certified Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal) preferred but will consider a combination of relevant education and experience AND/OR apprentice carpenter with minimum 2 years experience Valid driver’s license Own vehicle and clear Drivers Abstract Must have own hand tools OFA training is considered an asset Display ability to read and interpret blueprints Prior experience and familiarity with making custom concrete forms is considered an asset Job Duties and Responsibilities Skilled in rough and finish carpentry work Be knowledgeable and familiar with construction documents, drawings, and local building codes To construct various architectural components based on provided blueprints Arrive on site prepared for work with the tools necessary to complete required tasks General housekeeping including maintaining a tidy and orderly job site Moving/loading/unloading various materials Setup/removal of protection material for finished work (i.e. laying melamine, laying drop sheets, setting up plastic coverings, etc.) To build and install millwork plus concrete forms To construct high end back-framing (fireplaces, roofs, etc.) Various other tasks as required Skills and Competencies Ability to transfer information into action Ability to multi task Ability to act quickly with patience in high pressure situations Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment Must be empathetic and genuine Highly organized individual and great team player Strong problem solving/communication skills Strong customer orientation Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with your peers, Site Superintendent, and other trades onsite Present oneself as professional, innovative, creative, and a self-starter Foster a positive and professional work environment onsite with trades, coworkers and clients Job Benefits We offer extended medical/dental benefits and competitive wages Hiring organization Fifth Element Construction Industry Residential Renovations Working Hours 0800 to 1600 Base Salary $23-$35 Date posted June 1, 2023
