As a Cardiovascular Technician Apprentice, you will assist in cardiac catheterization to ultimately gain the skills necessary to become a fully certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT). A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am-5:30pm w/on-call requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: * Under supervision of CV Tech, perform basic EKG interpretation, single and 12-lead ST segments analysis for ischemia/injury patterns and recognition of arrhythmias. * Recognize and interpret EKG changes related to all electrophysiology procedures, such as mapping, ablating and implanting of cardiac resynchronization devices. * Perform arterial and venous pressure monitoring, sampling and basic interpretation. * Document procedure completely and accurately including medications and supplies. * Perform patient observation. * Under supervision of the CV Tech, assist team members in acute cardiac care, including resuscitation and related therapeutic effects. * Under supervision of the CV Tech, utilize aseptic techniques throughout pre-, intra- and post-procedures. * Set up scrub procedures in both Cath and EP lab. * Prepare all instruments/equipment for decontamination and take them to the sterilization department. * Assist in room cleaning after each case. * Restock procedure room when cases are completed for the day. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: * High School Diploma/GED * Completion of an approved Cardiovascular Technician Training Program within one year of hire * Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association within six months of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: * Six months of healthcare related work experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
