Location: Plymouth, UK

Description

Ready to solve problems that matter?

At Rowden, we design and integrate advanced systems that sense, connect, and protect data in challenging environments where quick decisions are vital. Our solutions use intelligent automation to enhance speed and efficiency and are built to be reliable and straightforward for critical operations in remote or high-pressure settings.

Headquartered in Bristol (UK), we combine modern engineering methods with cutting-edge commercial technology to create adaptable, mission-critical systems. We focus on solving the tough challenges that others overlook, ensuring our customers can operate effectively in an ever-changing world.

As an Integration Engineer at Rowden, you will be responsible for helping our customers deploy cutting edge digital capability to frontline operational users. You will act as a crucial intermediary between government departments, technical partners, industry suppliers and end users. The role will require you to get hands-on with various tactical C4ISR systems and related technologies such as Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS).

Working closely with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers and Product Owners within our DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering team, you will demonstrate technical leadership to guide our government customers through the challenges associated with developing and fielding technology-intensive solutions to pressing operational challenges.

This role is customer-facing and will require regular visits to customer locations across the UK, and some short periods of international travel. We recognise the instability this creates, and we will provide additional compensation accordingly. If this opportunity sounds like a great fit, we'd like to hear from you.

Key areas of responsibility

As an Integration Engineer at Rowden, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, designing, documenting, and implementing integration processes.

  • Maintenance, transport, configuration, and deployment of C4ISR and RAS systems.

  • Requirements capture, discovery and development of Concepts of Use (CONUSE).

  • Technical feasibility assessments and de-risking using Rowden's integration facilities.

  • Providing 1st line support, such as network configuration and bug reporting, for deployed users.

  • Communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders, from the end users to the CTO.

  • Scenario-based training, in both classroom and field environments, for deployed users.

Key skills, experience and behaviours

We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and who actively invests in their technical skills and abilities. You'll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

  • An ability to provide autonomous support, such as basic fault finding.

  • Experience of configuration of computing equipment.

  • An ability to assist with technical writing.

  • An applied knowledge of IP (Internet Protocol) and computer networks.

  • An understanding of radio frequency and antenna propagation.

  • Experience with Mobile Adhoc Network / Mesh communication systems.

  • Experience with VHF / UHF tactical communications systems.

  • An understanding of Military Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of technical skills and experience, but the key behavioural competencies that we believe will lead to success in this role are as follows:

  • Extremely customer and user-focused with strong communication skills.

  • Passionate about delivering value to front line users.

  • Strong desire to learn and improve.

  • Proven critical analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable with autonomous working and working in cross functional teams.
