Job Description

The College Access & Preparedness (CAP) Financial Aid Project Manager will oversee all aspects of college financial aid processes and acceptances for SA scholars. This role requires a leader who can zoom out big picture and act strategically while maintaining precise attention to detail and execute. This individual will maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity, holding a high bar of excellence in delivering on financial aid processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Management:
  • Run key operations including aligning with families on college lists, guiding scholars through the submission process, and securing confirmation of application submissions.
  • Determine ideal placements for scholars based on academic performance, career ambitions, extracurricular passions.
  • Liaise with other CAP teams to prioritize financial aid processes within the college acceptance process.
  • Financial Aid Expertise:
  • Develop subject matter expertise on financial aid, providing guidance and support to students, families, and staff.
  • Maintain updated with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and requirements.
  • Analysis and Systems Improvement:
  • Monitor and analyze financial aid data to assess program effectiveness, student outcomes, and funding trends.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of financial aid software and systems.
  • Evaluate and implement solutions to streamline financial aid processes, enhance service delivery, and improve scholar experiences and outcomes.
  • Family Outreach and Support:
  • Meet with families to discuss financial aid options, application processes, and financial planning.
  • Provide personalized support and advice to help families navigate the financial aid landscape.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial aid, program/project management, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in financial aid software and Google Suite.
