Location: San Diego (Remote after 7 weeks of training)

Duration: 6 months w/ possible extension to 9 months and conversion to perm

Pay rate: $24/hour


JOB DESCRIPTION

A top hospital system and healthcare provider in San Diego is looking for a call center representative to join their specialty call center team. This person will be working onsite in an administrative office. The representative will sit in an inbound/outbound call center environment, coordinating and scheduling patients’ medical appointments, transferring calls appropriately, and directing calls to the appropriate business unit as necessary. The incoming calls will involve handling patient inquiries and complaints. The outbound calls will be regarding account status, complaint follow-up, and appointment coordination with the appropriate department.


Responsibilities:

  • Operating in a high volume, highly structured call center environment by constantly responding to incoming calls and placing outbound calls.
  • Coordinating patients, facilities, pertinent departments, and physicians/health care providers.
  • Determining the type of appointment requested or needed, reviewing schedules of a mix of various technicians/providers, and then making the appointment utilizing appropriate guidelines.
  • Determining if calls are urgent or emergent by listening to the member, following established guidelines, and then transferring the call to the appropriate department for immediate resolution.


Daily Shift/Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM PST

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience in a call center or medical scheduling environment (customer/patient facing)
  • Ability to type 40+ words per minute
  • Microsoft Office proficiency


Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

  • EHR (electronic health record) system experience, preferably Epic
