Cooperworks Cabinet Maker

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The ability to clearly read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Cutting materials down to size, as needed.
  • Experience on table saw and miter saw. Hand-held routers, etc.
  • Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project
  • is completed on time.
  • Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final
  • product with it being square and side panels flush top and bottom.
  • Dadoe methods and dowel methods.
  • Build drawers to the exact size needed with them being square. Place your initials on the bottom of the drawer.
  • Knowledge of various drawer slides and how to mount them to a drawer and a cabinet.
  • Inspecting each completed item to ensure that it has been constructed accurately and that the necessary finishes have been applied.
  • Taking necessary precautions to remain safe. Inspect the cabinet assembly before moving off assembly bench.
  • The cabinet should meet the requirements on the shop drawings. Place your initials on the back of the cabinet.
  • Build laminate and solid surface countertops as per plans and best practices. Place your initials on the underside of the top.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Completion of a training program or apprenticeship will be advantageous.
  • Prior experience as a Cabinet Maker, any pictures of completed projects would be helpful.
  • Good arithmetic skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship.
  • Physical fitness, including ease of movement and the capacity to
  • lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Read a tape measure accurately.

Starting Salary: $20 - $22/hour or higher depending on experience.
