As part of the Advanced Manufacturing team, the Manufacturing Test Software Engineer will focus on software to support product testing during the manufacturing process. This position will work closely with contract manufacturers, manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and supply chain. This role will support existing test processes for improvements, test process design, new product introductions, factory transitions, and component qualification.

This position reviews Factory Yields, Test Applications and engineering documents. Maintains and approves test process details and records for each test. This role performs also requires creating Test Requirements Document, Test Code Development and Data Analytics development.

This role is to be based in our Guadalajara office and offers a hybrid working schedule, with the majority of days per week spent in the office.

As part of the Advanced Manufacturing team, the Software Engineer will focus on software to support product testing during the manufacturing process. This position will work closely with contract manufacturers, manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and supply chain. This role will support existing test processes for improvements, test process design, new product introductions, factory transitions, and component qualification. It is a fast-paced environment that requires strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

This role is to be based in our Guadalajara office and offers a hybrid working schedule, with most days per week spent in the office or at a local contract manufacturer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Software in Visual Studio using C# for a Windows .NET application that can interface with hardware over SSH, RS232, TFTP, Telnet, SPI, I2C, SCSI, etc.
  • Additional software focus on real-time data parsing and analysis, SQL queries, and data logging.
  • When necessary, develop/support software written in Python, C/C++
  • Familiarity with Jira and GitLab tools for issue tracking and source code control.
  • Review and develop software test strategies for PCBAs, sub-assemblies, and top level assembles used in manufacturing.
  • Monitor production yields and assure test process problems are analyzed to provide/recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze and evaluate data to assess and recommend solutions. Follow up on implementation and monitor results.
  • Ability to understand and approve cost associated with test processes assembly.
  • Support Troubleshooting of parts and processes.
  • Debug products in NPI working jointly with Cross functional teams and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Work under pressure on the End-of-Quarter Closing mode.
  • Occasional Travel – approximately twice a year.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in development of C# algorithms with focus on hardware communication and data analysis.
  • Fluent in English along with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working through and resolving complex issues.
  • Reporting and recordkeeping skills, with clear and concise communication.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with Contract Manufacturing and Global Supply Chains.
  • Working experience with Tape Library/Robotics and storage arrays.
  • Knowledge of PCBA testing (ICT, Flying Probe, AOI, 5DX, FCT, etc.) processes.
