Blue Marble is recruiting C++ developers to join a growing R&D team focused on lidar, 3D, and advanced geospatial data processing. This team of developers will work with our Global Mapper architect and CTO to expand our IP and development in these areas.
The ideal candidates will have advanced C++ development skills, including point cloud processing in 2D and 3D engine development and geospatial data processing. The selected candidates will be involved in architecting and developing our next-generation software engine.
The R&D team is focused on a development project with many known and unknown technical hurdles. We are looking for savvy and enthusiastic developers, who share our passion for the GIS industry to help us develop advanced products to solve real-world problems. The position can be in-house, based in Brunswick, ME, or remote. Relocation expenses can be negotiated as part of the hiring package.
Position Requirements
A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or other science;
a minimum of 5 years of experience in C++ software development in a Windows environment;
experience with MFC, .NET technologies, and Java;
experience with GIS and lidar and/or advanced 2D/3D mathematical geodesy processes (preferred);
knowledge of Microsoft VC++ (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015), with MFC and the .NET framework (preferred); and
cross-platform development skills using the GNU C compiler, or experience with the Qt toolkits (preferred).
