About the role

The Butler is a team player with “no task too big or too small” attitude. The Butler works within the interior team of the estate on hospitality and service to the principals and their guests on a large oceanfront property. The Butler reports to the House Manager. Proficient communication, organization and collaboration skills and ability to pivot are required as daily tasks and priorities are everchanging.This position requires flexibility and willingness to work additional hours as needed upon request.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Liaising with principals and staff to provide formal meal service and service of drinks with the highest social etiquette standards
• Assist with meal service set up, tablescapes, candles and florals
• Greeting guests and providing impeccable service, care and style
• Collaborate with Head Butler, House Manager and Chef on all special events and entertaining planning, execution and service
• Broad knowledge of culinary and hospitality realms
• Excellent knowledge in the treatment and handling of antiques, fine art and fine finishes
• Gentleman’s valeting, including clothing and shoe care
• Maintaining inventories of fine china, stemware, silver, flatware and linens
• Care of the butler’s pantry, silver and wine cellar collections
• Maintain guest profiles’ attendance and preferences
• Travel required between principals’ residences
