Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

The Marketing/Sales Representative is responsible for planning, forecasting and implementing direct sales activities for Sparrow Occupational Health Services and CARES Employee Assistance Program to employers in the Mid-Michigan area. Included is the maintenance of relationships with existing customers and prospecting of new business to ensure continued market penetration and profitability.

Essential Duties

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Develops new clients/companies for Occupational Health Services/CARES and maintains positive relationships with existing customer base
  • Solicits feedback and information from the business community to assist in improvement of services and new program development
  • Provides reports to management regarding sales activities/results, employer needs, and market analysis information
  • Assists in the management and coordination of client relationships. Communicates service problems to the appropriate clinic manager for resolution. Communicates the resolution of the service problem to the client.
  • Participates in the development of Quality Outcome measurements for OHS
  • Coordinates e-newletter communication to existing and prospective customers
  • Maintains all employer profiles, records and files including address and contact changes
  • Produces additional sales with current employer clients
  • Functions as a member of the Occupational Health Leadership Team

Works with OHS Leadership to develop Strategic Marketing Plans for OHS and CARES

Job Requirements

General Requirements None

Work Experience Minimum of three years marketing, sales and/or promotion experience Minimum 1 year experience in organizing, coordinating and promoting a sales effort/strategy, in a health care environment Minimum 1 year Direct sales experience. Prior experience in Occupational Health marketing preferred

Education Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Healthcare, or related field

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Occupational Health industry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must possess strong Microsoft computer skills Self-starter type individual
