Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern to support the daily operations of our Accounting and Procurement teams. This role offers hands-on experience in both disciplines and exposure to the inner workings of a high-end design studio. Core responsibilities include assisting with journal entries and reconciliations, tracking and managing purchase orders, liaising with vendors, and supporting the logistical execution of client installations.

The intern will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Procurement Manager to ensure efficient back-office operations. This paid internship is ideal for a candidate with a foundational knowledge of accounting, strong organizational skills, and an interest in the design industry.

This is an in-office role, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with some flexibility on the internship end date.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, ad hoc projects, and updates to internal reporting schedules
  • Track and manage purchase orders and delivery timelines to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
  • Coordinate with vendors to confirm order details, resolve issues, apply for trade accounts and maintain procurement records
  • Support the procurement team with logistics planning and documentation for client installations
  • Maintain organized documentation and assist with general administrative tasks for both teams
  • Provide occasional support to the Office Manager with administrative projects and office organization

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles, gained through relevant coursework or prior experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Technologically proficient, with familiarity in tools such as Google Drive/Suite, Microsoft Excel, Slack, ClickUp, and Studio Designer considered a plus
  • Strong interest in design, architecture, or related creative industries is a plus
  • Access to a car is preferred for occasional travel to project sites, storage unit and vendor locations
  • Must be able to physically navigate project sites, including ascending and descending stairs, lifting and carrying packages or boxes up to 30 lbs, and standing or moving for extended periods
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and vendors
