Job Details
The Business Intelligence Engineer will design, build, and maintain the systems that power data visualizations, reporting, and dashboard tools. You'll ensure that decision-makers across the business have access to accurate, timely, and insightful data. This position will work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to build and maintain the foundation for reliable dashboards and reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain semantic data models in Power BI to support business reporting needs.
- Write and optimize DAX expressions to enable dynamic measures, calculations, and KPIs.
- Respond to and troubleshoot end-user data issues, bugs, or report inconsistencies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Support and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure accurate data flow into reporting environments.
- Monitor and update existing data models as business requirements evolve.
- Work closely with data engineers and analysts to align on data definitions, sources, and business logic.
- Maintain data integrity by implementing testing frameworks.
- Document model structures, business rules, and data definitions for future reference and team alignment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, including DAX or custom calculations.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Strong Excel skills for data analysis and research.
- Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
- Solid understanding of data modeling for BI/reporting (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and a good sense of design and usability.
