INTERNSHIP PURPOSE
- We are seeking a motivated and analytical Summer Intern to join our Business Intelligence (BI) Development team. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing BI solutions that empower strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. The intern will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful analytics projects and build technical skills using a leading BI platform.
FOCUS OF WORK
The intern will support the BI Development team in creating scalable data solutions within DOMO, our enterprise BI platform. This includes assisting with dashboard creation, data preparation, and dataflow design to support business users across departments. The role is ideal for students eager to apply data and technical skills in a collaborative, business-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of interactive dashboards using DOMO.
- Assist in cleaning, transforming, and validating large datasets for reporting.
- Help build and maintain dataflows and pipelines within DOMO to support dashboard functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into BI deliverables.
- Conduct data quality checks and troubleshoot issues in existing reports or data pipelines.
- Document workflows, processes, and data source integrations for team knowledge sharing.
- Attend team stand-ups, project meetings, and training sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student entering sophomore, junior, or senior year, majoring in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with DOMO or other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) is a plus.
- Understanding of data cleansing and preparation concepts.
- Exposure to SQL or other data query languages is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative on new tasks.
