The Business Intelligence & Application Analyst is a full-time position and a technical role that focuses on the reporting and business process needs of Financial Aid and other departments. The role will leverage technical and analytical skills to provide reports, support ongoing business needs, and improve processes. What will I do in this position? Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Support business process improvements in relation to supported enterprise applications, with an emphasis on Financial Aid business processes. * Write and maintain SQL for institutional reporting, with an emphasis on Financial Aid reporting. * Lead the new award year setup process in coordination with the Financial Aid office. * Provide business analysis support with the institutional ERP (Banner), with emphasis on Financial Aid business analysis. * Review Financial Aid ERP upgrades and test new releases. Secondary job responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Create web forms as requested by departments. * Support, update, and troubleshoot existing institutional reports. * Manage & create end-user documentation for supported applications. * Assist with miscellaneous department duties as requested. What will it take to succeed in this position? Minimum Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree, strongly preferred * 2 years of business intelligence or ERP technical support experience, required * Experience in higher education, preferred * Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * StrIntermediate SQL competency * Demonstrated technical skills including experience with the support of large-scale enterprise software solutions * Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, kind, and tactful manner * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, meet deadlines, and handle/prioritize simultaneous requests without constant supervision * Ability to solve problems creatively and analytically, both individually and when working with others * Strong commitment to customer service with ability to work effectively with end-users and teammates, understand technical and operational needs and translate them into viable technical solutions * Ability to maintain confidential information * Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and on-call as needed * Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment Working Environment: The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission and values of the University and an agreement to abide by all University policies.
