We are seeking a Business Development Manager in our Audit Segment who will play a key role in securing new business and delivering sales, both with new customers and within existing accounts.
About The Role
This role requires subject matter expertise, structured in alignment with specific propositions, and will focus on growing the Confirmation business in Japan. The Business Development Manager will engage with key decision-makers across
audit firms and financial institutions to expand the use of Confirmation’s electronic audit confirmation platform. The key priorities are new business development, client relationship management, and expanding Confirmation's presence in the Japanese market to meet and exceed revenue targets.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities/accountabilities:
- Own and achieve revenue targets for Confirmation in Japan.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to drive adoption of Confirmation’s platform in Japanese audit firms and bring on board financial institutions in our network.
- Conduct structured outreach to the top audit firms and banks, leveraging internal and your own networks for referrals and introductions.
- Educate and consult with clients on the benefits of electronic audit confirmations over manual processes.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key customers, fostering strong relationships to drive retention and expansion.
- Prospect new clients, deliver compelling product demonstrations, negotiate agreements and close deals.
- Work closely with internal teams, including other Sales colleagues, Marketing, Customer Support and Product, to align strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Stay up to date on market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements in Japan to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer and opportunity data in CRM systems and conduct regular win/loss analyses.
About You
You’re a fit for this role if you possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- Fluency in both Japanese and English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within SaaS, financial services, or B2B technology.
- Accounting/Commerce Degree – Preferred CA/CPA
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- A strong understanding of audit firms and financial institutions in Japan and their business processes.
- The ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders at banks and audit firms.
- A customer-centric approach, commercial acumen, and the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with regional and global teams.
- Experience using CRM tools like Salesforce for pipeline management and reporting.
