🚀 The Role: Business Development Manager (New York) 


We’re looking for a commercially-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for building your own book of business — focused on self-sourced new revenue from VC-backed startups and growth-stage tech companies. 


This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role — ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage sales, loves working with founders and technical stakeholders, and knows how to close. 


📍 Location: This role is based in our New York office. We work flexibly, but at least 2 days in-office per week is required. 


💼 What You’ll Be Doing 


  • Building and closing your own $1M+ book of business (depending on experience) through outbound efforts, referrals, and ecosystem engagement. 
  • Managing the full sales cycle — from lead generation to close — with a focus on VC-funded startups and tech-first companies. 
  • Leading commercial conversations with founders, CTOs, and senior stakeholders. 
  • Acting as a strategic advisor to your clients, helping define how they scale engineering and delivery teams. 
  • Ensuring an excellent client experience from initial engagement through handoff to delivery. 
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and success outcomes. 
  • Partnering with marketing to support go-to-market efforts and content strategies that drive engagement in the startup space. 


✅ What We’re Looking For 


  • 5+ years of experience in business development, tech sales, or recruitment, ideally within software services or IT consulting. 
  • Proven ability to build and close a self-sourced pipeline of $1M+ in annual new business. 
  • Demonstrated success engaging senior stakeholders in strategic sales conversations. 
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex deal structures. 
  • Passion for delivering exceptional client experiences — you know how to build trust and set high expectations from the start. 
  • Highly self-sufficient — you don’t wait for leads, you create them. 
  • Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills in fast-moving environments. 
  • Strong analytical mindset — comfortable using data to qualify leads and inform sales strategy. 
  • Familiarity with software development processes and working alongside engineering or product teams is a strong plus.

Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000

OTE: Upwards of $180,000+
