Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives in logistics and supply chain services. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics (3PL/4PL) services, with a focus on building long-term client relationships and delivering tailored logistics solutions. Hands-on experience in liquid product transportation (e.g., chemicals, fuels, edible oils, etc.) is a strong advantage and will be considered favorably.

 

Key Responsibilities:1. Business Development & Sales Strategy
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in logistics, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain management.
  • Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities across sectors (e.g., FMCG, chemical, petroleum, food-grade).
  • Develop go-to-market strategies to penetrate new industry segments, particularly in bulk liquid transportation.
2. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Build, manage, and grow strong relationships with key clients, vendors, freight partners, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Understand client pain points and design customized logistics solutions that meet their business objectives.
  • Act as a key point of contact from lead generation through onboarding, and post-sales relationship management.
3. Proposal Development & Commercial Negotiations
  • Prepare and present detailed proposals, including service offerings, cost models, quotations, and ROI-based justifications.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that ensure competitive advantage and operational feasibility.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, finance, legal) to structure agreements that align with company capabilities and compliance standards.
4. Industry & Product Specialization (Liquid Transportation – Preferred)
  • Leverage hands-on experience and knowledge in the handling and transportation of liquid products, such as hazardous chemicals, fuels, industrial fluids, and food-grade liquids.
  • Provide technical insights on compliance, safety, vehicle requirements (tankers, ISO tanks, flexitanks), and route planning for liquid logistics.
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to regulatory and environmental standards (e.g., ADR, IMDG, or local transport regulations for dangerous goods).
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with logistics operations, supply chain planning, fleet management, and procurement teams to ensure service delivery meets client expectations.
  • Track and report performance metrics including customer acquisition rates, conversion ratios, and account growth.


Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 4–7 years of business development or key account management experience in the logistics and supply chain industry.
  • Proven success in acquiring and managing clients in 3PL/4PL environments.
  • Experience in liquid or bulk product transportation is a significant advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing pricing models, understanding freight economics, and using CRM/ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment


Preferred Experience:

✔ Knowledge of tanker fleet management

✔ Familiarity with DG handling and ISO certification standards

✔ Client portfolio in oil & gas, chemicals, or food processing industries
