Summary

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Lagos

Reports To: Head of Business Development


Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager will accomplish and strategise Business Development to

drive growth, foster key partnerships, and enhance market positioning within the financial sector.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of finance services. A proven track record in business development and the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.

Core Duties

Developing sales channels, strategic partnerships, and coalitions to support a national strategic agency network of resellers. And subsequently continental basis, for Africa and the Caribbean.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to generate new business prospects.
  • Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, potential clients, and industry partners.
  • Lead Sales Processes: Oversee the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, pitching, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to create tailored solutions for clients.
  • Prepare Proposals and Presentations: Develop and present business proposals, RFPs, and presentations to senior leadership and client decision-makers.
  • Monitor Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry developments and emerging trends to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Utilize CRM Tools: Maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools to track progress and performance metrics.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is typically required; an MBA is a plus.
    • Minimum of 7 years of cognate experience
    • Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a track record of achieving targets.
    • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and develop effective strategies.
    • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and closing skills to secure profitable deals.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
    • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.
