Job Description

This position researches and develops new customers and programs in commercial markets seeking custom optics. We are a US-based manufacturer of precision optics, thin film coatings and optical assemblies built to our customers’ designs and specifications. Our customer base resides across aerospace, defense, industrial medical laser, life science and semiconductor industries.

More Specifically

The Business Development Manager will research new business targets and bring in new business specifically in the commercial (non-defense) market. This can be accomplished by conducting research to identify organizations for outreach, networking within targeted organizations and building relationships with key contacts, representing company at trade shows, and deploying marketing and promotional tactics. The goal is to bring in new customers and sales in new programs for custom optical components or assemblies.

RMI possesses a diverse toolbox of capabilities and a team of technology experts offering know-how and skills to build products that meet our customers’ specification needs.

Desired Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and five years of business development / sales experience preferably in a technical industry. Familiarity with technology fields is required. Passion for technology, especially optics is desired.
