Sales Executive (Southeast) - Packaging (Data Centers (Servers), Automotive, Aerospace)
A leading North American provider of engineered packaging solutions is seeking a Packaging Sales Engineer to help drive direct-to-client revenue growth in the greater Atlanta area. This position is part of a new facility launch in the region and offers the opportunity to play a key role in expanding the company’s footprint and impact.
The company delivers a wide range of protective packaging solutions, with vertically integrated operations and a strong design-to-manufacture capability. Its portfolio spans multiple materials including foam, molded pulp, corrugated, and wood-based applications.
Position Overview
This is a high-impact, individual contributor role focused on direct sales to end-clients. The Packaging BDM will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle — from prospecting and packaging design collaboration to quoting, closing, and post-sale support. Success in this role requires strong consultative selling skills, a technical packaging background, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams including design, operations, and customer service. This position reports to the Vice President of Direct Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth with both existing and new end-client relationships
- Collaborate with packaging design and engineering teams to support client needs from concept through prototyping
- Lead pricing, quoting, and negotiation efforts to close business at or above target margins
- Maintain and expand post-sale relationships, ensuring long-term client satisfaction
- Leverage personal industry network to self-generate opportunities and pursue new accounts
- Understand and effectively communicate the value proposition of complex, customized packaging solutions
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders including marketing, operations, and leadership
Qualifications
- 3–10 years of packaging sales experience, including at least 2 years in a field-based, client-facing role
- Bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline preferred
- Strong understanding of protective packaging materials and design principles
- Experience working across multiple packaging formats and production processes
- Proven track record using value-based or consultative sales techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; energetic, resilient, and team-oriented
- Self-starter with the ability to operate independently and collaboratively
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel daily within the region and occasionally overnight
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and quoting tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish or French is a plus
- Ability to understand facility capabilities and translate them into client solutions
- A focus on margin integrity and moving client decisions from price-based to value-based outcomes
