Summary

Job Overview:

International Corrosion Services (ICS) is a Stainless-Steel Corrosion Treatment (pickling passivation and electropolishing) business with office and workshop located in Forrestdale, WA.

Cable Restoration Australia (CRA) is a cable repair and protection business, also based in Forrestdale WA, but mostly completing projects on site.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and delivering growing revenue for the organization. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship management, and a passion for achieving targets.

The position is based at the office in Forrestdale for collaboration with the team but will require time on the road around the greater Perth area to build client relationships and find business opportunities from small workshop treatment jobs to large energy or resources projects.

Experience in the energy and resources sectors or fabrication is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve organisational goals.
  3. Develop strategies to have our services and products scoped into project specifications
  4. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and potential growth projects we should be targeting as possible clients (some projects have long gestation periods)
  5. Client Acquisition, Relationship Management
  6. Identify and establish relationships with potential clients and partners, fabricators for heavy industry or preventative maintenance in energy and resources sectors.

a)     Be able to use Linkedin to establish relationships and create leads

  1. Maintain and nurture long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and loyalty.
  2. Working with the GM, act as a point of contact for high-value clients and key stakeholders.
  3. Responsible for marketing both CRA and ICS on linkedin and google ads/search and developing the companies profile Australia wide as an expert in stainless steel treatment and cable repair and refurbishment.
  4. Revenue Growth:
  5. Drive the sales process from prospecting to closing deals, with a focus on the steel fabrication or energy and resources sectors.
  6. Develop quotations and work with the GM to ensure that pricing delivers good profit for both businesses. 
  7. Meet or exceed revenue targets and business development goals (see Performance Agreement for sales targets and commission structure).
  8. Win big jobs - use the GM and Directors to help you win big jobs.
  9. Lead client/sales contract negotiations and know how to write these contracts up with support of GM and Directors.
  10. Business Promotion and Social Media
  • Work with internal external personnel on website or social media development.
  • Responsible for Linkedin presence and regular posts.
  • Make sure we are on top ranked on google and key word searches and other similar metrics.
  • Make sure we are recognised as the number one brand in Australia for our speciality lines: Stainless Steel Treatment and Cable Repair and Restoration.
  1. Collaboration and Leadership:
  2. Work with GM, Ops Manager and all staff to deliver the best quality outcome for our company and clients.
  3. Collaborate with Operations personnel to keep information flowing in and out of the workshop – you work for us not the clients (no blame).
  4. Provide insights and feedback to the leadership team to refine strategies and improve offerings.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  6. Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to refine strategies.
  7. Prepare and present regular monthly and annual reports on business development activities and outcomes.
  8. Keep detailed and accurate records of all business development activities, including client interactions, sales processes, and performance metrics.
  9. Other BD:
  10. Identify opportunities for growth either in ICS, CRA or more generally.

 

Qualifications:

  • Track record delivering strong sales outcomes.
  • Able to professionally present to large and small clients in a professional way.
  • Extensive experience (10-20 years) in the energy, resources, and fabrication sales sectors.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Able to write clear, concise and profitable proposals and close deals and deliver final contracts.
  • Strong ability to analyse and interpret data for informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant tools.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Team player.
  • Able to take responsibility for good outcomes and areas for improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape, particularly in energy, resources, and fabrication sales.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience in a work environment emphasising safety and compliance with stringent rules and regulations is preferred.
