BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER


As Business Development Manager you are part of the Business Development department team that directly supports and influences the commercial success of AliveDx’s clinical business portfolio. You will work side by side with AliveDx’s marketing and commercial leaders and functional teams. You will report into the head of business development. This role will be based out of The Netherlands, working closely with our teams in Switzerland, UK and US – as well as our partners worldwide. This is a full-time position.


YOUR MISSIONS

As Business Development Manager (BDM) you are responsible for identifying and developing strategic business opportunities, expanding market presence, and driving revenue growth. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including laboratories, hospitals, research institutions, and industry partners. The BDM collaborates closely with marketing and product development teams to position the company’s IVD solutions effectively and achieve business development objectives.


As Business Development Manager your main responsibilities will include:


Generate new sources of business: Market Expansion & Business Growth

  • Identify opportunities to expand market share and revenue (market research, internal alignment/prioritization).
  • Identify and pursue new sales channels, including OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partnerships and licensing agreements – from partner selection through contract negotiation.
  • Test opportunities (engage with customers/partners, deploy pilots with relevant company functions).
  • Track opportunity impact (use CRM tools, etc.).


Support the growth of existing business: Product and Market Strategy

  • Work closely with product management and R&D to align IVD product offerings with market needs by providing insights on market demands and competitive positioning.
  • Stay informed about IVD industry regulations (IVDR, FDA, CLIA, CAP, etc.) and ensure business strategies align with compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies, promotional campaigns, and lead generation initiatives.


Drive executive alignment

  • Provide insights and regular reports to senior management on market trends, sales forecasts, and competitive analysis.
  • Support preparation of monthly Board and quarterly Investor meetings.



YOUR COMPETENCIES

A talented business development professional with a proven track record and significant growth potential. A real team player with a results driven attitude. To be successful in the role, you should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in business development roles within the IVD, medical devices, or healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of growing market share, developing strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent business acumen, strategic planning and business modelling experience.
  • Deep understanding of IVD market and products, and clinical diagnostics/laboratory workflows.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a commercial audience; fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, and R&D teams.
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) to meet clients, attend conferences, and develop new business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (IVDR, FDA, CE marking, etc.).
  • Experience in B2B business development in the clinical diagnostics market.
  • Established network of contacts within the IVD, laboratory, and healthcare sectors.
  • Familiarity with IVD technologies.
