About the Position:

Trash Scouts is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Sales team as our Business Development Representative.

We’re growing fast and are looking to bring on our first dedicated Business Development Manager to help us expand across the Bay Area. This is a ground-floor opportunity to play a visible, impactful role in a small, scaling company with a stellar reputation.


What You’ll Be Doing

This role blends sales outreach, relationship building, and territory development. You’ll work closely with ownership to help bring in new business while also deepening relationships with our existing customers.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Identify and connect with new leads through cold calls, referrals, and prospecting
  • Present our services to property managers and ownership groups
  • Create customized proposals and follow up with prospective clients regularly
  • Conduct walkthroughs and field visits to assess client needs and monitor satisfaction
  • Grow revenue by identifying new service opportunities with current customers
  • Keep detailed records of outreach, proposals, and conversations in our CRM
  • Represent Trash Scouts at local trade shows, association meetings, and industry events and various networking events
  • Work directly with operations to ensure clients have a smooth onboarding experience


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, or territory-based account management experience
  • Location: You will spend 50%-75% of your time traveling within your assigned territory.
  • Comfortable making cold calls and meeting with potential customers on-site
  • Strong relationship builder with a people-first approach and eager to resolve any client issues or complaints
  • Motivated, accountable, and eager to grow in a small, entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic, professionalism, and a high level of personal accountability.
  • Familiar calling on property management companies and property managers
  • Waste and Recycling Industry experience a plus
  • Valid driver license and good driving record


Compensation Plan

Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 per year (depending on experience) plus uncapped commission.

Incentive Plan: This role includes a performance-based commission and bonus structure tied to new client acquisition, account growth, and customer retention. On-target earnings (OTE) for this position are approximately $90,000 - $95,000 per year, combining base salary with achievable performance incentives.


Auto allowance: Bi-weekly fixed contribution + mileage reimbursement.
