Summary

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Reports To: General Manager


Purpose & Role:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating and executing business development strategies to drive growth, increase revenue, and expand market presence in the Construction and HVAC contracting industry.


Key Responsibilities:


1- Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies aimed at growing the company’s presence in the construction and HVAC contracting industry.
  • Align sales and marketing strategies with the company’s goals, including targeting specific sectors such as residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
  • Drive revenue growth through both new client acquisition and expanding relationships with existing clients.


2- New Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify and analyze new market opportunities within the construction and HVAC sectors, focusing on high-growth areas such as sustainable building projects or new construction technologies.
  • Monitor industry trends, economic changes, and new regulations to uncover opportunities for business growth.
  • Research potential clients, general contractors, and facility management companies to understand their needs and how the company can provide value
  • Stay posted on suitable tenders and manage the submissions accordingly.


3- Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, contractors, suppliers, and partners within the construction and HVAC industries.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their project needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to develop a strong professional network and increase the company’s visibility in the market.


4- Marketing and Project Sales:

  • Develop and execute marketing and sales plans specific to the construction and HVAC contracting industry.
  • Oversee the preparation of proposals, bids, and presentations to potential clients, ensuring that they are tailored to meet client specifications.
  • Monitor and track the success of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve goals.


5- Negotiation and Deal-Making:

  • Lead negotiations with general contractors, building owners, and project managers to secure contracts for HVAC installations, maintenance services, and construction projects.
  • Close deals that align with company goals while ensuring profitability and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate terms of contracts, project scope, timelines, and pricing with clients and vendors.


6- Revenue and Growth Monitoring:

  • Monitor sales performance, tracking revenue growth, client acquisition, and profitability across HVAC and construction projects.
  • Adjust sales strategies and tactics based on performance data, client feedback, and market conditions.
  • Work closely with senior management to ensure that growth targets are met and exceeded.


7- Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Align marketing and sales activities with the capabilities and capacity of the company’s project teams to ensure a seamless process from sales through to project completion.
  • Provide market insights to the design and operations teams to improve service offerings and increase competitiveness.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within the construction and/or HVAC contracting or similar industry.
  • Proven track record in identifying business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and building client relationships in the construction and/or HVAC or similar industry.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with E-tendering portals.
