We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Executive to join our Canberra-based team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving growth strategy, forging key relationships, and identifying opportunities that align with our mission to support Australia’s defence and national security objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the defence and national security sectors.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with government agencies, defence primes, and industry stakeholders.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that align with company objectives and customer needs.
- Deliver high-impact proposals, briefings, and presentations to senior decision-makers.
- Conduct market analysis to inform business strategy and anticipate industry trends.
- Represent the business at key industry events, building visibility and expanding our network.
- Collaborate across internal teams to ensure delivery excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities through CRM and reporting tools.
About You
- Proven experience in a business development role—ideally within the defence industry.
- Strong understanding of defence procurement processes and client environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and negotiation capabilities.
- Comfortable operating autonomously and within cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and business development tools.
- High professional integrity and discretion.
- Security Clearance: Minimum NV1 required.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Defence Studies, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development with a strong track record of achieving growth targets.
- Prior experience working in or alongside the defence and national security sectors is highly desirable.
