Business Development Director


Position Overview: The Business Development Director plays a pivotal role in driving business development, expanding our client base, and fostering relationships with industry connections. This position is responsible for identifying, targeting, and converting new business opportunities, working closely with the leadership team to ensure sustained growth and market presence. This role involves hands-on business development, strategic networking, client acquisition and relationship management and thought leadership.


This role is responsible for driving new business across our entire portfolio of consulting services such as; business strategy & planning, business and program operations, digital marketing, executive communications, sales & channel growth, and data analytics & decision support.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive targeted business development efforts by engaging with existing, past, and prospective clients to drive new business growth in conjunction with client relationship owner or directly.
  • Cultivate and strengthen industry relationships to identify and connect with potential clients, positioning the company as a trusted partner within the market.
  • Conduct comprehensive intelligence gathering to inform targeting and engagement strategies with potential client prospects.
  • Actively engage in networking with key industry stakeholders, including potential clients, industry leaders, and referral partners, to continually expand our reach and influence.
  • Design and execute strategies to attract new clients, deepening understanding of their unique needs, and positioning us as their ideal partner.
  • Develop tailored business proposals and presentations that address the specific objectives of each prospective client.
  • Manage and complete detailed responses for RFIs and RFPs, utilizing the expertise of subject matter experts across the business.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for net-new prospective clients, understanding their needs and objectives and presenting insights back to the exec team.
  • Monitor and analyze pipeline health by tracking wins and losses, assessing deal probability, and conducting accurate forecasting to ensure sustained growth and strategic decision-making.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is preferred).
  • 8–10+ years of direct experience in sales, business development, or account management, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • 5+ years of experience in a consulting, professional services, and/or agency environment, preferably working with or selling to large companies.
  • Prefer experience and familiarity of the Microsoft organization
  • Demonstrated experience in consultative selling and solution-oriented sales.
  • Experience managing C-suite and senior-level relationships, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Background in building and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
  • Proficiency in crafting and executing sales strategies tailored to enterprise-level customers.
  • Capability to analyze customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to present complex ideas effectively.
  • Proven ability to meet ambitious revenue and growth targets in competitive environments.
  • Established relationships within relevant industry sectors.

Compensation: Prime 8 uses different pay ranges based on level of position, relevant experience and specific candidate location. The pay range for this role is between $150,000 - $250,000 salary per year (based on full time employment), plus commission/bonus.
