Job Title: Business / Data Analyst (OTC Derivatives)

Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 12+ Months (Possible extension)

Job Description:

Data Analyst with strong expertise in OTC derivatives and market data. Solid IT and database background, with proven experience in complex SQL query development and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries using Hive and Impala.
• Analyze large datasets across multiple tables to support business and regulatory reporting.
• Tune database queries for performance, leveraging indexing, partitioning, and understanding of query execution plans.
• Utilize shell scripting or Python to automate data workflows and support data processing tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Work with OTC derivatives and related data formats such as FpML (a plus)

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong domain knowledge in OTC derivatives and financial markets.
• Proficient in SQL, with experience writing complex, multi-table queries.
• Experience with Hive and Impala.
• Knowledge of query optimization, performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
• Experience in shell scripting and/or Python.
• Familiarity with FpML is an asset.
