The Business Configuration Analyst works as an entry-level consulting team member or an individual consultant on an implementation, enhancement, integration, or special project(s). Conducts work assignments of minimal complexity. Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes. Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgement. Duties may be performed at customer's site. Works under clearly defined guidelines. Requires basic skill set and proficiency.
About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
* Works on small-sized projects or specific components within a larger project, usually performing basic design work, configuration and testing.
* Learn FAST's unique tool sets configuring complex software components with little or no coding intervention
* Performs configuration tasks on a system component.
* Executes enhancement and system level test cases.
* Provides support to customer's test efforts.
* May assist in analyzing customers' business requirements and technology objectives; may develop a specification to meet customers' business needs.
* Prepares status reports, as needed, on all project activities.
* Performs simple to moderate configuration as part of story implementation
* Develop next generation SDLC skills from both a business and/or technology perspective
* Engage customers and team members in an Agile and collaborative environment
* Solve complex business problems utilizing FAST's library of SOA components
* Hone leadership and client skills through a succession of rapid customer engagements
* Acts as a liaison between customers and the company
About You and How You Can Excel in this Role
Essential Education and Work Experience
* Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science (STEM preferred). Typically requires less than 18 months of experience in relevant industry business practices, business consulting, or technical consulting with strong analytical/problem solving attributes. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel with database (SQL) and XML/XSLT exposure a plus.
Development of Specific Knowledge & Skills
This role will be challenged to develop and learn:
* Configure and run "basic" automated test cases
* Configure predefined "basic" orchestrations and rules
* Configure basic data model entities and attributes
* Clear understanding of role and responsibilities within FAST project methodology
* Document software defects using predefined standards and tools
* Working knowledge of the FAST platform to process business from end to end for two out of three using major Insurance Software Components (New Business, Policy Administration, Distribution Management)
* Working knowledge and ability to apply product concepts to at least 2 Life or Annuity products (FAST or Client)
* Define data relationships between key components and entities
* Conduct story level software demonstrations
