Business Analysts support the operations they are aligned with by accessing core IT data, interpreting the data per functional owner requirements, and generating data driven recommendations for business leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Working directly with business stakeholders, designs a wide variety of moderately complex reports and some complex reports using data from one or multiple systems to specifications. Delivers report in format to aid stakeholders outside the functional area (powerpoint, PDF, etc.)
- Reviews delivered reports for data accuracy. Independently works to resolve quality issues of limited scope and escalates complex quality issues to supervisor or senior staff for resolution
- Uses business acumen to look beyond the data to generate recommendations for a wide variety of moderately complex problems to review directly with business stakeholders
- Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences
- Serve as the bridge between business teams and IT developers, ensuring that the proposed solutions meet the functional requirements and integrate well with existing or future systems.
- Produce, test, and implement automated data workflows to ensure functionality, performance, and user satisfaction. Support work process roll-out and core reporting across the organization.
- Work closely with business unit cost-reduction managers to ensure cross-functional project statuses progress per committed dates, within scope, and meet original ROI justification.
- May be responsible for data governance processes and quality in assigned area of responsibility
- Coaches junior level analysts in data governance, report design and analysis, and data presentation
Preferred qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System Analyst or in a similar role, with a focus on system/data implementation, analysis, and process optimization.
- Strong technical knowledge of IT systems and system integration.
- Experience in data analysis or reporting tools; SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau.
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms; Databricks; Google Cloud Platform, Big Query.
- Proficiency in system analysis tools, process modeling techniques, and documentation software.
- Experience with databases & data lakes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-8 years experience
- Can synthesize complex data into themes, stories and recommendations
- Intermediate systems knowledge in assigned functional area
- Microsoft Excel - intermediate to advanced skills
- Can present data in a visually compelling format to help business stakeholders understand the issues, possibilities and recommendations
- Microsoft PowerPoint - intermediate to advanced skills
- Presentation skills - intermediate skills to advanced required.
- Some formal training in public speaking/presentation skills preferred
