Summary

Job Summary – Business Analyst (Michigan DHHS)

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for various client applications within DHHS departments.
  • Support and improve automated processes and streamline critical business workflows.
  • Ensure data integrity and application security.
  • Lead enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation projects.
  • Supervise and provide application oversight to other business analysts on the team.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements; conduct gap analysis; develop detailed functional requirements.
  • Write high-level and detailed functional requirement and design documents.
  • Develop user stories, task breakdowns, and functional/technical specifications for Agile projects.
  • Assist with Enterprise Architecture Solution Assessment (EASA), hosting documentation, firewall rules, and IT solution design.
  • Prepare documentation for Local Change Board, RFIs, RFPs, and IT Readiness Checklists.
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases; perform UAT and post-implementation testing.
  • Differentiate between defects and new requirements; provide defect tracking and log entries.
  • Support implementation of Requests for Change (RFCs) and maintain/update system documentation.
  • Monitor applications during peak production periods and provide application support to business clients.
  • Deliver business analysis products and services based on core business analysis principles.
  • Required to be onsite in Lansing, MI, two days per week (hybrid role; local candidates only).

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 8+ years of business analysis for complex computer systems.
  • 8+ years developing functional requirements and implementing test plans/cases.
  • 5+ years implementing Agile development, including test-driven development.
  • Experience with HIPAA data, Azure DevOps (or similar), and documentation/training material creation.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, communication, and detail-orientation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Prior experience with Michigan DHHS and residency in Michigan are mandatory.
