Business Analyst

A major energy company is looking to bring on a Business Analyst for a 12-month contract (with potential for extension or contract-to-hire) to support its Retail Operations team based in downtown Houston. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, fast-paced team supporting one of the leading power and energy suppliers in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day business operations tasks, focusing on payment reconciliation between customer invoicing and utility payments.
• Handle medium-to-complex exception processes and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Develop subject matter expertise in core functional areas within Retail Energy.
• Collaborate closely with operations teammates, project groups, and IT to support business objectives and system/process changes.
• Deliver consistent and professional communication to internal stakeholders.

Top Qualifications:

• 1–3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, or Accounting/Finance support role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, Oracle, etc.)
• Accounting and reconciliation experience highly preferred
• Familiarity with EDI files, payment systems, or utility billing is a major plus
