Job Description: The Department of Business Administration at the University of Saint Joseph invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track- or non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor starting in August 2025. The rank of Assistant or Associate professor and the type of position (tenure-track or non-tenure-track) will be determined based on the academic and professional qualifications and experiences of the candidate. Candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The ideal candidate will be able to teach the following courses: Principles of Accounting I and II Managerial Accounting Cost Accounting Intermediate Accounting I and II Audit Financial Management Investment Management Accounting Data Analytics The Department of Business Administration resides in the School of Arts, Sciences, Business, and Education at the University of Saint Joseph. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Management, and Sport Management and Promotion. At the graduate level, the Department offers Master of Science in Management and Master of Healthcare Administration degree programs. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Teach 24 contact hours per academic year, as assigned. Demonstrate expertise in current methods and practices for teaching college-level courses and the potential to integrate professional and academic experiences to deliver up-to-date, relevant course content. Prepare lectures, projects, homework, assessments, and other student assignments. Contribute to the development and refinement of course content, program assessment, and other related activities. Engage in professional/scholarly activities to keep current in the field. Participate in University’s shared governance processes, engaging in University, School, Departmental, and ad hoc committees. Advise and mentor assigned students in the Department. Build a positive rapport with students and faculty and promote an environment of student success at USJ. Qualifications: An earned doctorate degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Those currently completing their doctorate may apply with documentation from their dissertation advisor demonstrating a clear timeline to degree completion. Candidates with an MBA or an M.S. in Accounting with an active CPA licensure will be considered. Industry experience in the area of and accounting/finance is desirable. Prior college level teaching experience is desirable. Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population. Commitment to the University of Saint Joseph mission. For a tenure-track appointment, the candidate must show evidence of potential to maintain an active scholarship agenda that leads to publications possibly with undergraduate student participation.
