Summary

Business Account Manager – Grocery Retail

A key Business Account Manager position, responsible for managing one of the UK’s largest grocery retailers across our entire portfolio of products and brands. The primary objective is to deliver mutually profitable revenue growth for both Energizer and the customer. This will be achieved through building strong internal and external relationships and developing strategic plans focused on distribution, pricing, promotion, and placement.

The role holds full P&L ownership — from topline revenue down to profitability — encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset and empowering the successful candidate to take ownership of how best to deliver growth and achieve targets.

Additionally, this role includes people management responsibilities and offers clear potential for progression to Channel Director or a similar leadership role, subject to demonstrated capability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Universal Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute annual business plans that effectively deliver customer and Energizer objectives.
  • Monitor performance monthly, identifying and progressing new opportunities, and managing risks accordingly.
  • Take full ownership of the customer P&L, ensuring financial targets are met while actively pursuing new growth opportunities and mitigating risks.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Direct line management responsibility for one team member, overseeing their performance and development.
  • Collaborate closely with Demand and Supply Planning teams to accurately forecast and reflect customer volume requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships across key stakeholders, including buying, merchandising, and supply chain teams.
  • Represent the customer’s voice internally, working cross-functionally with teams such as Finance, Category Development, and Marketing Activation to shape and deliver strategic account plans.
  • Own and manage all customer contracts, trade fund management, and promotional ROI analysis.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of three years’ Account Management experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, identify issues proactively, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
