Building Design - Lead Electrical Engineer (In-person)

Typical Roles Will Include:

  • Prepare deliverables to facilitate project planning and budget control
  • Review and execute electrical design and layout
  • Review electrical technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.).
  • Attend project meetings to coordinate with other disciplines and project consultants
  • Inspecting project sites in order to monitor progress and ensure compliance with all safety and government regulations
  • Completing technical reviews and providing recommendations regarding designs and reports
  • Promote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of electrical engineering work
  • Completing audits of the work that is produced to ensure design is completed with quality and assurance
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff members

Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering and design
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario or other provinces and countries is a benefit
  • Working knowledge of CSA standards, ANSI standards, IEEE standards, NFPA, Ontario Building Code, and other ethical and professional code compliance
  • Superior comprehension of all electrical systems from both the design and installation perspectives including electrical construction, installation, technologies, planning, and management etc.
  • Perfect command of the English language
  • Verbal and written communication skills to outline project technical information to project managers, clients and peers
  • Ability to work in a stand-alone capacity
  • Motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying size and complexity simultaneously
  • Superior computer skills including Microsoft Suite and other design tools

Hours: 40 hours per week, non-standard hours may be applicable to accommodate deadlines or peak period workloads

Hybrid and remote working not available for this position due to collaboration and communication required in office.
