Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Building Defects Claims Manager to oversee and manage residential building defect claims from initial report through to resolution.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of residential construction, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The role is Based in Sydneys CBD with my client who develops and builds projects Nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage and manage defect experts in all disciplines to prepare expert reports to reply to owners corporations building defect reports
• Technical knowledge and understanding to negotiate alleged defects with a view of resolving defect claims with owners corporations, including requirements for rectification work such as those under the Design and Building Practitioners Act
• Have an understanding of the Home Building Act and Design and Building Practitioners Act claims commenced by owners corporations in Court
• Have an understanding of the strata building bond scheme process and the Building Commission's building rectification work order and undertaking process
• Have strong communication and relationship building skills for external stakeholders including owners corporations and strata managers

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in claims management, construction defect assessment within residential construction.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and typical residential building defects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously and work under pressure.
