Job Description

We are searching for a licensed Architect - Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager to become an integral part of our team! You will assure the quality of the construction document drawings, feasibility studies, specifications, schedules and reports we produce for our clients and developers.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is for a highly skilled, highly experienced and highly technical architect. Candidate must be able to review construction drawings for technical accuracy and quality. This is a mentorship and coaching position.

The quality control manager position develops, implements and manages quality control and quality assurance processes designed to ensure continuous production of accurate architectural drawings using established standards, client specifications and production goals. The position may supervise architects and/or other technical professionals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) client issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Supervise staff members engaged in design and production activities to ensure high productivity and high technical quality and integrity.
  • Develop and analyze technical and statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished construction documents.
  • Provide technical and professional expertise to teams.
  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other architectural managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Create, document and implement review criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key staff within company.
  • Provide, and oversee, review activity for drawings throughout production cycle.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Interact with consultants to ensure quality of all sub-contracted design services
  • Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture and licensed professional
  • Previous experience in quality assurance
  • 10 + years of architectural experience.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Staff Management Experience (coaching, mentoring and training a must).
