We rebuild and maintain large and small market broadcast infrastructure and transmitters. JOB SUMMARY
Duties will include the installation and servicing of Radio and TV broadcast hardware, broadcast consoles and mixing systems, digital playback / automation systems, AM/FM/TV broadcast transmitters, satellite uplinks and downlinks, STL and microwave systems, data/voice networks, structured cabling, power generators, UPS battery backup systems, CCTV and security.
The Audio/Visual/Integration technician is charged with the responsibility of working with assigned project managers, systems engineers, senior systems engineers and programmers in providing complete, full functional integrated audio-visual systems.
The job responsibilities of the Broadcast Engineer / Systems Engineer include the following:
Maintenance - Participate and contribute to a preventive maintenance program and schedule to provide the Clients with an efficient and reliable technical infrastructure.
Will troubleshoot equipment and recommend appropriate solutions including vendor repair, in house repair or equipment replacement.
Audio and networking cable and connector construction and installation
Manages own time to perform within defined schedule
Interfaces with assigned project manager and client contacts
Interfaces with all Senior Systems Engineering staff in the commissioning process
Responsible for redlining CAD and Visio documentation for as-built purposes
Responsible for communicating status of punch items to project manager
Responsible for network configuration of all AV devices
Responsible for filling out IP tables
Responsible for audio system setup, gain structure, processing and leveling
Responsible for video system setup
Responsible for managing and updating hardware and software versions and storing configurations in shared storage
Works with the programmer to ensure that latest code version is stored on the project server
Assists the project manager with handling client requested changes to scope (change orders)
Assists other staff / engineers with field questions and clarifications
Responsible for completing commissioning QC checklists
Responsible for rack testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment
Responsible for field testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment and programs
Provide assistance to other staff members when needed
Provide training on to clients when requested
Availability to participate, respond to and manage 24x7 responses to emergency client needs in the rotating on call schedule. Responses could include a remote session from a computer to resolve the issue or a visit onsite.
Perform other tasks as requested
REQUIREMENTS
A degree in electronics or electrical engineering is preferable
General CTS or SBE certifications preferred
Interest in obtaining company funded CTS-I, Cisco and SBE certifications
Experience with computer systems, including Windows and MacOS, Microsoft Office suite, and related industry software.
Experience in structured wiring termination, rack fabrication, setup, and calibration of audio/video equipment and automation control systems
Understanding of data networks, including WAN/LAN, DHCP, switching/routing, WiFi, topologies, and various protocol standards.
A thorough, demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques
Understands basic IP networking
Can create customer training presentations in PowerPoint if required
Likes to travel, likes a flexible schedule

A professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to lift/maneuver up to 50lbs and physical ability to frequently: bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

Strong personal time management and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
