Our Bridge Engineer career path is your opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure transportation projects. Each day, you will provide technical expertise and work as a team member in completing bridge and transportation structure design and construction projects. You should have strong technical skills in concrete bridge design, strong structural analysis/modelling skills, a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with others, and a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each transportation project.
Our Professional Associate Bridge Engineers
- Serve in a technical support role on a variety of bridge projects with a range of sizes.
- Successfully deliver high-quality projects within budget and on schedule.
- As part of a team, effectively collaborate with others and participate in all aspects of bridge analysis and design, from conceptual planning and preliminary design to final design and construction
- Identify creative and innovative engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints
- Provide technical guidance and oversight, and perform quality reviews of work by others
- Commit to quality and continuous improvement as individuals as well as part of a team
- Complete assigned tasks with a high-level of quality within schedule and budget constraints while collaborating with teams of professionals from multiple disciplines
- Lead and support project execution, quality management, and safety plans
- Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages for bridges and other transportation structures.
- Train, mentor, and direct the work of less-experienced engineers
- Demonstrate leadership by organizing and actively participating in technical development and other networking activities both internally and externally
- Assist in marketing activities to procure new opportunities, coordinating with client account management leads.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
This position will be based out of any of our Southern CA offices including Irvine, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Riverside, CA, and San Diego, CA, and may include limited travel.

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in California or other western state (with ability to obtain California PE within 6 months from the date of hire)
- At least 5 years of bridge design experience and thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code, including California amendments to AASHTO, Caltrans SDC, and other Caltrans design manuals
- Thorough knowledge of Caltrans design and detailing practices
- Track-record of successful project delivery experience on bridges and other transportation structures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with others
- Proficiency with some or all of the following structural and bridge analysis and design software CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Bentley LEAP Design Suite or Openbridge Designer, Viathor VBridge/VBent, PG Super, PG Splice, Xtract.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Existing Caltrans, City, and/or local county relationships
- Proficiency with MathCAD, Bluebeam, and various other standard software.

The base salary range for this position is $95,300.00 to $149,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
