Opportunity


Skybound is looking for a Brand Communication Coordinator, Editorial who will play a key role in driving revenue for Skybound Editorial (including comics, graphic novels, books, and related products) across all channels.

The Brand Communications Coordinator will contribute to the development and execution of the Editorial communications roadmap and will further develop awareness of Skybound’s comic book and graphic novel slate.

This is a temporary role with a start date no later than June 2 and ending December 17. This role will be expected to work during west coast business hours for 4-5 days per week at an average of 20-25hrs/week.


Reports: This position will report to the Vice President of Brand (Editorial).


Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Assist in the planning and execution of PR campaigns, including new launch announcements, previews, reviews, interviews, and feature placements.
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust press network, effectively managing media relations and press / media lists.
  • Maintain press trackers of coverage, including pulling relevant press quotes across business units and projects
  • Collaborate with Sr Manager, Public Relations on drafting, formatting, approvals, and distribution of press releases and other press materials
  • Work closely with both Brand and Communication teams as well as creative talent, to develop communication strategies and go-to-market plans.
  • Update contact lists in press database across business verticals
  • Calendaring, schedules and press dates


Basic Qualifications

  • Ideally 1-3 years of prior PR work experience, in-house or agency.
  • Experience in comics or entertainment PR strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with PR-functional tools a major plus (email marketing platforms, Meltwater/Cision/Muck Rack, etc.)
  • Candidate must have knowledge of trends within the comics and general publishing industries.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels within the organization, as well as with external partners, vendors, and talent.
  • Strong strategic thinker, able to articulate goals and present collaborative solutions to achieve them.
  • A self-starter who can work independently, pay close attention to detail, and manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Office Suite required.


Job Type: Temporary


Salary Range: $24.00 - $27.00 hour


  • Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc.
  • The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees
  • Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
